How it works

Five parts. One very forgiving pot.

A holistic plant care system hidden inside a display-worthy planter. Here's every piece, and what it quietly does for your plant while you're out living your life.

1

The Outer Pot

A hand-finished shell that hides the hardware. Sits flush on any surface and catches stray drops so your shelf stays dry.

2

The Reservoir

Holds up to two weeks of water in one fill, so your plant drinks on its own schedule — not yours.

3

The Air-Pruning Sleeve

Roots hit air at the edge and stop growing outward, branching into a denser, healthier root ball instead of circling and choking.

4

The Wick

Pulls water up from the reservoir on demand. The plant takes exactly what it needs — never soggy, never bone-dry.

5

The Floating Ring

No app, no reminder, easy to know when to water.

Plays well with
every plant you dreamed of.
And the ones you didn't dare to.

Our passive watering system biomimics the steady moisture conditions of a rainforest floor — where monstera, philodendrons, and most indoor plants evolved to thrive.

I've composted eleven ferns. This pot has kept a monstera alive since March. I don't know what sorcery is inside but I'm leaving a five-star review out of sheer relief.

Questions we
expected.

Still curious? Email hello@mytendril.com. A real human (who owns several plants) will answer within a day.

What's your return policy?

You've got 100 days. If you're not in love, send it back for a full refund — no fees, no questions. We cover return shipping.

What plants does it work with?

Most common houseplants — peace lilies, monsteras, pothos, snake plants, ZZs, fiddle leaf figs, even small olive trees. The mechanism works for plants thathateconstant moisture and plants thatloveit, because air-pruning + the calibrated reservoir gives the roots exactly what they pull. Not sure about yours? Emailhello@mytendril.com.

How often do I actually water it?

Once a month for most plants. Kevin waters his notoriously thirsty Peace Lily once a month and it thrives. You'll see the water-level indicator drop — when it's empty, you refill. No schedule, no second-guessing, no moisture meter.

What comes in the box?

The Tendril planter, the air-pruning sleeve, foldable trowel and soil power-packs - everything you need for your plant's new home. Just add a plant and a little extra potting soil. No batteries. No app. No subscription.

Can I use my existing plant?

Yes — most people do. Gently shake the old soil off the roots, drop the plant into the air-pruning sleeve, fill in around it with potting mix, and you're done. Takes about five minutes.

How does the air-pruning sleeve work?

Roots grow toward air, then stop when they hit it. Instead of circling and rotting in a sealed plastic pot, they branch into a denser, healthier root system that pulls water on its own schedule. It's the opposite of a wick — which keeps soil perpetually wet and is exactly why snake plants, ZZs, and fiddle leafs die in the "patented" pots that use one.

Is shipping really 24 hours?

We ship within 24 hours of your order. From there, most US orders arrive in 2–4 days.

What if my plant dies anyway?

Inside 100 days: send it back for a full refund — no questions, we cover return shipping. Outside 100 days: email us and we'll do our best!
